NFF TO OFFER PAUL LE GUEN N16.2M PER MONTH FOR EAGLES JOB
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) is set to offer French coach Paul Le Guen a staggering monthly salary of N16.2m, the equivalent of €44,000 for him to accept theEagles job.
NFF boss Amaju Pinnick said last week that the football house was targeting a top-level coach to prosecute the qualification campaign for the 2018 World Cup after Nigeria were handed a nightmarish group that also features Algeria, Cameroon and Zambia.
And Vanguard Sports reports that Glass House officials already held talks with Le Guen who had a successful managerial career in France, particularly leading Olympique Lyonnais to three consecutive Ligue 1 titles.
The 52-year-old also had spells as Stade Rennais, Paris Saint-Germain, Glasgow Rangers, and internationally with Cameroon and Oman national sides.
A reliable source in the NFF debunked rumours that a Serbian coach was coming in, insisting that it’s already a sealed deal with Le Guen.
“Initially, we thought of getting a Serbian. We’ve since moved on and held talks with Le Guen who is enthusiastic on working with the star-studded Super Eagles. He is a gentleman and stickler for discipline”.
It is however unclear what the position of Super Eagles interim manager Salisu Yusuf will be in the event the Frenchman is appointed, as he already stated he’s ready for the top job after two friendly wins with the lads last month.
